ASKO’S ATLAS DEAL BUILDS A BIGGER GLOBAL MACHINERY BUSINESS
The Turkish group is connecting Canadian tractor manufacturing with German excavator and crane expertise.

Turkish industrial group ASKO is expanding its international machinery business through the acquisition of Germany’s ATLAS by its Canadian subsidiary, Buhler Versatile. The deal closed on 1 October 2026.
ATLAS brings more than a century of engineering experience, producing excavators, material handlers and loader cranes. It joins a group whose agricultural machinery operations include the Versatile tractor brand.
CONNECTING THREE INDUSTRIAL BASES
ASKO acquired control of Buhler Industries in 2023 and completed full ownership in 2025. The ATLAS purchase connects Turkish ownership, Canadian manufacturing and German construction equipment expertise.
Buhler Versatile says the combination creates opportunities to share engineering capabilities, purchasing and parts support while strengthening its European manufacturing presence. ATLAS will retain its brand identity.
A NEW CHAPTER FOR ATLAS
The acquisition followed ATLAS’s restructuring, which began in February 2026. More than 200 jobs were preserved as its operating business continued under the new owner.
For ASKO, which already operates in construction machinery, the deal expands its product range and European reach through an established manufacturer and dealer network.
